a four- year-old boy is back home with his family tonight. after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool in sunnyvale. kron four's dan rubin spoke with the woman who saved the boy's life. he joins us live tonight from the apartment complex where the incident happened. dan. pam, this very quiet neighborhood was anything but yesterday. this pool behind me was where cries for help were answered by police and paramedics. now that calm has been restored. there's one woman in particular who's receiving a much deserved "thank you." sharvari dolas was at home with her children on monday. from the window of her living room. she has a clear view of the community swimming pool. sharvari called out to the person in the pool to see if they were alright. they did not respond. she unlocked the gate, jumped into the pool, and began pulling the boy to safety. sharvari is a mother herself. during her pregnancy, she learned emergency first aid, specific to young children.

after her husband performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. there was room for optimism. paramedics were called. they picked up where sharvari and her husband left off. the child, who is not being identified due to his age. was rushed to the hospital where he spent the night. today, he returned home. sharvari knows, because the boy's mother, who she's yet to meet,. called her. like most good mother's. they're not alright, until they know their child is alright.
